Dr. Isamir Martinez, Assistant Director at the ACS Green Chemistry Institute (GCI),® Office of Sustainability, drives strategic initiatives at the ACS GCI to accelerate the adoption of sustainable chemistry and engineering across the chemical enterprise. She leads the industry portfolio, fostering collaboration among stakeholders, educating academic communities, and influencing decision-makers on the transformative role of green chemistry in driving sustainability. With a pharma background in medicinal chemistry, chemical R&D, consulting, and academia, she brings a multidisciplinary perspective to advancing sustainability. She holds a Ph.D. in Organic Chemistry from the University of Connecticut and a B.S. in Chemistry from the University of Puerto Rico.
