A Promising Novel Formulation Based on a Natural Ingredient Against RNA Viral Infections
Information
The recent pandemic has reminded us that RNA viral infections can cause very serious health problems. Common denominator of all RNA viruses is their inability to replicate without the use of the host cell's cellular machinery. After infection, two processes occur simultaneously: high-speed viral replication in host cells, and low-speed antibody formation by the host. In our arsenal against viral infections from RNA viruses, we have antiviral drugs and preventive drugs (vaccines). A promising new formulation based on a natural ingredient that lacks the side effects of antiviral drugs and whose effectiveness does not depend on the species, or the specific strain of the RNA virus could be an excellent addition to our arsenal against RNA viruses.
