Nearly 45% of the 20,000 drugs in the pharma development pipeline are biologics, many of which are intended to improve treatment of chronic diseases. However, biologic formulations can present delivery challenges, such as larger volumes and viscosities that require innovative, patient-friendly delivery approaches when intended for subcutaneous delivery. These challenges have led to development of a range of formulation and drug delivery solutions to meet pharma needs for effective subcutaneous delivery.
