Information

Clinical research faces a dual transformation challenge as new data reveals significant gaps in both sex-specific analysis and geographical representation. With only 17% of clinical trials publishing sex-disaggregated results and a persistent concentration of studies in North America and Europe, there's an urgent need to reshape our approach to clinical research. These disparities are particularly evident in disease-specific studies, where women remain underrepresented despite being disproportionately affected by certain conditions, and where populations from Africa, Asia, and Latin America are often excluded despite unique genetic, environmental, and socioeconomic factors affecting treatment outcomes.

This session aims to explore the importance of comprehensive data diversity and its effect on drug development and advancing truly personalised medicine.
