The Life Sciences Ecosystem in Lombardy: Growing Sustainably

As sustainability becomes a key driver of competitiveness in the Life Sciences sector, companies are increasingly required to balance innovation, environmental responsibility, and societal impact. To support this transition, Assolombarda's Life Sciences Supply Chain group has launched a structured dialogue with companies across the ecosystem to understand how sustainability is being integrated into business strategies, operations, and governance, and to identify the most effective practices already in place.

Drawing on this work, the session will explore emerging sustainability priorities for the sector, including decarbonization, resource efficiency, sustainable innovation, health equity, and ESG governance. It will also highlight the challenges companies face and the opportunities created through collaboration, knowledge sharing, and public-private partnerships. The discussion aims to foster a shared vision for a more resilient, sustainable, and competitive Life Sciences ecosystem in Lombardy.
