Information

There has been increased regulatory focus on material considerations to drive sustainability in product design. For biomanufacturers, handling and disposal of materials is fundamental for compliance and safety, and accounting for sustainability criteria can help improve environmental impact by reducing or replacing certain materials. Per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) are a class of chemicals that have received global attention because of the recent proposals by authorities in different countries to restrict PFAS for specific applications to minimize their use. Reducing and/or replacing these materials in new products can help reduce supply chain risks and drive development of more sustainable products.
