How the Pandemic Accelerated the Evolution of Cold Chain Logistics
Information
Over half of today's drug pipeline is comprised of biologics – drugs made from living organisms or their products.
Maintaining the integrity of biologics prior to use is a primary challenge in modern healthcare. Due to the stability requirements and perishability of their protein-based components, they need exquisitely careful temperature controls. Most require uninterrupted storage at 2 to 8 degrees Celsius; some must have -20C to -80C environments.
The evolution from traditional pharma products to biologics is also driving another evolution – a reinvention of pharma delivery networks.
Join UPS Healthcare's Graham Cromb, vice-president of Europe Healthcare Logistics and Distribution and Dan Gagnon, vice-president of Marketing Execution, as they discuss how healthcare companies are managing supply chain complexities in the age of biologics.
