Fusidic acid is an antibiotic with a steroid structure, from the family of fusidans. It is a short-spectrum bacteriostatic agent, effective against gram-positive bacteria, including staphylococcus and corynebacterium species. For this reason, it is especially indicated in the treatment of severe dermatological and ocular infections, and osteomyelitis.
