Rheipeptidase (serratiopeptidase) is a proteolytic enzyme that has been used worldwide for more than thirty years. First isolated from Serratia marcescens.
It has a highly pronounced enzymatic activity including a:
- potent anti-inflammatory
- antiedematous
- mucolytic
- fibrinolytic effect
Its use is recommended for all acute inflammatory conditions.
Surgery: Postoperative swelling and bruising, remission of swelling after surgical sutures, establishment of tissue drainage, facilitating expectoration of post anesthetic phlegm.
Otorhinolaryngology (ENT – ear, nose, throat): Acute and chronic sinusitis, otitis media, acute tonsillitis, laryngitis, pharyngitis, nasopharyngitis, inflammation of the Eustachian tube. Blocked nose and pooling of secretions in the pharynx.
Obstetrics and Gynecology: Mastopathy, fibromatous changes in breasts, adnexitis, salpingitis, lateral episiotomy, perineal lacerations.
Orthopedics: Rheumatoid arthritis and osteoarthritis after surgical procedures, fractures, tendinitis, sprains, dislocations.
Stomatology and oral surgery: gingivitis, periodontitis, surgical interventions in maxillofacial region, after extractions.
