It tracks data such as fill levels, opening times, and even the number of pills removed, transmitting this information to a smartphone or tablet. All events are timestamped for accurate tracking. Patients are reminded of their next dose through visual and acoustic signals, ensuring timely intake. Furthermore, the container pairs with its cap for tamper-evident and anti-counterfeiting protection.
The container is equipped with advanced features, such as temperature and humidity monitoring, ensuring the proper storage conditions of the medication. Additionally, a safety mechanism ensures the cap remains locked unless a pill is ready for removal, which prevents accidental misuse. The system requires deliberate action for pill retrieval, adding an extra layer of safety.
Developed in collaboration with the Heidelberg University Hospital, Connect-e-Cap® meets the highest industry standards (ISO 15378 and ISO 13485) and integrates seamlessly with standard packaging. With a USB-rechargeable battery and reusable components, it is ideal for use in clinical trials.
