To ensure the seamless transition from pilot manufacturing, PLD starts with small-scale production equipment in the development process that has identical operational attributes to what will be used in full-scale commercial manufacturing all under the supervision of a single project manager to ensure that no information is lost during scale up. This approach reduces cost, time, and errors by not having to rely on commercial size equipment that is scaled down to run pilot trials or bench top equipment that is scaled up.
