Applied R&D in Sustainable Chemical Syntheses

At Fraunhofer IMM, we develop sustainable solutions for our customers in the chemical, pharmaceutical and biotechnological sectors. We have developed a modular platform technology that enables us and our customers to produce high-quality fine chemicals using classical thermal synthesis, photochemistry and electro organic synthesis on different scales. Our approach is based on decades of experience in micro process engineering and continuous flow chemistry. Our engineers design flow reactors according to customer requirements and integrate them into synthesis plants for the screening of process parameters. High-performance light sources based on commercially available high-performance LEDs or surface and structure optimized electrodes are developed in our institute for their application in photochemistry and electrochemistry.
