nifedipine + lidocaine hydrochloride cream for rectal use. Therapeutic indications: •Anal fissure •Proctalgia generally associated with anal sphincter hypertonia Nifedipine inhibits the flow of calcium ions to smooth muscle of the anal sphincter acting as muscle relaxant, anti-inflammatory agent and regulator of microcirculation. Lidocaine prevents the propagation of the pain stimulus having an analgesic role. Antrolin demonstrated: - a synergetic mechanism of action mediated by nifedipine and lidocaine - clinical remission of thrombosed hemorrhoids and post-hemorrhoidectomy pain relief - to be effective in healing anal fissures - a good tolerability profile even when applied to injured anorectal mucosa
