Information

A robust, reliable supply of quality medicines is an essential component of our healthcare system. Unfortunately, our medicine supply chain remains vulnerable to substantial disruptions from shifting market and trade dynamics, foreign manufacturing, and other barriers impacting access. Understanding these vulnerabilities is essential, but increasing resiliency in the U.S. medicine supply chain is not driven by a single intervention. Instead, it is achieved through the combined and coordinated use of key levers matched to the underlying drivers of vulnerability. To strengthen our medicine supply chains and drive action, USP established the USP Resiliency Center to harness data and insights, mobilize stakeholders to act, and advance data-driven solutions and investments to advance supply chain resiliency. This keynote will detail the current and future work of the Center, including its role supporting US domestic manufacturing efforts though: End-to end supply chain mapping and analysis that provides U.S. manufacturers with the information to reshore production, reduce reliance on foreign countries, and decrease supply chain disruptions. Establishing quality standards, analytical methods, and process control strategies for new manufacturing processes and technologies Developing tools and interventions for resiliency planning and implementation, helping to build support for scalable solutions and collaborations.
