Information
This bespoke packaging solution, developed with Mathys (now part of Enovis Surgical International), offers a functional, convenient, and reduced-plastic alternative for medical knee and hip implants. The custom-designed, three-piece structure is made entirely of paperboard using wood-based fiber from sustainably managed forests. Inside, the inner pack includes an integrated protective 'honeycomb' inlay that adapts to the shape of the implant, ensuring secure protection without excess materials. This eliminates the need for a foam inlay and facilitates a smoother, more efficient production and packing process. The new packaging offers benefits at every stage of its life cycle. It optimizes efficiency by simplifying and accelerating the erecting and filling process, provides ample space for labeling, and features convenient, ergonomic openings for easy access by hospital staff. And, at the end of its life, the carton is fully recyclable within existing infrastructures.
