Information

SCHOTT TOPPAC® infuse prefillable polymer syringes were designed to tackle critical challenges in hospital settings, such as high drug waste due to unclear packaging, manual tray preparation, and storage issues. The limited shelf life of compound syringes, FDA restrictions on polypropylene (PP) syringes, and the risk of medical errors from manual syringe preparation further complicate the situation.

Made from advanced Cyclic Olefin Copolymer (COC), these syringes provide high stability and excellent barrier properties, enhancing drug stability and extending shelf life. As prefilled syringes, SCHOTT TOPPAC® infuse eliminates the need for a manual multi-step preparation process, reducing the risk of human error and improving patient safety. The syringes feature a new cap and label design that covers the entire shoulder, integrating tamper-evident functionality directly onto the syringe and enabling a first-opening indication. Additionally, incorporating an RFID chip for seamless traceability and a digital first-opening indication significantly improves the efficiency of anesthesia tray preparation, reducing the time required from 20 minutes to just 1 minute. Tailored functional labels for SCHOTT TOPPAC® infuse syringes enhance protection from light and oxygen.

This innovation significantly reduces medication loss and allows the syringes to be used without secondary packaging, as the product's state is visible even at the primary packaging level. The blister-free packaging concept minimizes waste, reduces space, and lowers the CO2 footprint.
