Maja Pedersen

Maja Pedersen is the Chief Operating Officer of FUJIFILM Biotechnologies. She is responsible for site operations, supply chain, quality, process development and global manufacturing science and technology (MSAT). She brings 20+ years of leadership experience in the life sciences and biopharma space, holding senior leadership positions in quality assurance and control, regulatory affairs and external manufacturing. Her path to COO was a deliberate progression. Maja first joined FUJIFILM Biotechnologies from 2019 to 2021 as Vice President of QA, QC & Regulatory Affairs, a role that established her as a foundational quality leader within the organization. She then moved to Biogen as Global Head of External Manufacturing, where she oversaw the entire CDMO network. In 2023, she was personally recruited back by President and CEO Lars Petersen to serve as Chief Quality Officer, a strategic appointment designed to embed a unified quality culture across FUJIFILM's global network as the company entered its most ambitious phase of growth.  Maja drives company culture with a strong focus on the patients, with a firm belief in quality as an enabler, resulting in strong ownership of responsibilities across multiple functions. She holds a Master’s degree in Biotechnology from the University of Copenhagen.
