Information

The COVID-19 pandemic exposed critical vulnerabilities across pharmaceutical supply chains in the Americas, prompting a reassessment of manufacturing capacity, external dependencies, and regulatory agility. Supply chain resilience is increasingly a central priority for governments and industry, as this decade unfolds amid geopolitical fragmentation and economic realignment with growing uncertainty across the global landscape. Trade dynamics, industrial policies, and strategic dependencies are being actively redefined.

This panel will explore how fragmented regional structures and a complex operating environment shape Latin America within the Americas—the world’s second-largest continental system. It will assess how policy evolution and shifting industrial dynamics are reshaping countries’ positioning in pharmaceutical value chains, translating the lessons of the pandemic into actions to expand industrial capacity, improve healthcare access for local populations, and strengthen their role globally.

By bringing together perspectives from industry and public sector stakeholders, this session aims to examine how they are jointly strengthening and safeguarding supply chain security, providing practical insights into how companies—both within and outside LATAM—can navigate trade flows, market access, and strategic partnerships while balancing safety, efficacy, efficiency, and time to market in a cost-constrained environment.
