This presentation explores how recent advances in continuous-flow photochemistry are unlocking the industrial potential of light-driven reactions. Combining photochemistry with flow processing enables the efficient synthesis of complex molecules that are difficult or inefficient to access via traditional thermal routes, while delivering benefits in safety, sustainability, and cost-efficiency.

A key focus is the development and scale-up of the HANU™ photoflow reactor, a novel slurry-compatible plate reactor that overcomes classical limitations in light penetration, mixing, and handling of multiphase systems. The lecture highlights design principles, scale-up strategies, and real industrial case studies, demonstrating significant productivity gains—up to 200-fold improvements in space-time yield.

Attendees will gain practical insights into translating photochemical innovation from lab to commercial manufacturing.
